Spaces: Festive Family Room
It's beginning to look a lot like christmas at the Baer's house.  After decorating and baking last weekend, I am feeling so much at home in our place.

I love the Christmas feeling. We are attending our first Christmas party tonight which should be a delightful evening with treasured friends. I have yet to choose a festive outfit for the event.

Today, I will be video chatting with a good friend across the seas, making some christmas presents, and drinking tea in this beautiful space.  I am just delighting and enjoying our festive family room.

Cheers,

Anna

What are you doing today?
DIY Circular Garland
I made these little circle garlands over the weekend and they have brought a lot of christmas cheer to our little home.  They are super easy to make.

All you need is:  old book pages, a sewing machine, scissors, something round, and 15 minutes of time (to make one which is 1 meter long).

I used just a straight stitch.

It holds together wonderfully and is ready to hang up in no time!Do you have any decorating DIY's that are super quick and fun?  I would love to hear about them.

Christmas Cheer...
The great thing about being a new family and making a home is starting new traditions and decorating on a budget.  Haha.

We don't have much extra cash these days so decorating needs to be almost completely DIY.  Which got my creative juices flowing.

So, on the eve of Advent we took the evening to celebrate the beginning of the christmas season.

We made cookies, sewed stockings, made an Advent Calendar tree, drank Gluhwein, sewed garlands and watched "Miracle on 34th Street."

It's really feeling like home here in our new place.  It's fun being our own little family unit.
