Re-Blog: Holiday Cheer Punch Recipe

Last year I shared this holiday punch recipe and I have made it this year again. It's as good as ever! It's really become a holiday staple at the Baer's.

We have served this punch a few times this holiday season and our guests seem to really enjoy it.  It is sweet, spicy and sour, and great because designated drivers and young children can enjoy it without getting tipsy. (The alcohol is added upon serving).  It warms my belly during the holidays and fills me with glee, that's why I've named it Holiday Cheer!

 -1 litre apple juice
-half litre orange juice
-half litre pineapple juice
-the juice of 2 limes
-2 cinnamon sticks
-6 cloves
-1 tsp ginger powder
-1 jigger of white rum per mug of punch (Optional but highly recommended)

Serves 6

Mix ingredients (apart from the rum) in a large pot, let simmer on stove for 30 minutes before serving.

What have you been drinking lately?

Cheers,

Anna

Hot Mojito
Hi Lovelies.  Tis the season for hot cocktails.  Though I still am craving those summerly refreshing flavors, I need them to be warm and not chilly.

So, today I bring you my hot mojito.
This makes a small tumbler of this hot refreshing beverage.  Just combine the following ingredients.

Ingredients:
-1/2 Lime
-2 teaspoons of sugar
-1 shot of rum
-a cinnamon stick
-a cup of hot water.

*If you want the vitamins from the citrus let the water cool a bit after boiling, and then put the citrus in.

Cheers,

Anna
DIY Cocktail: Milk Mender
I don't drink much milk, which is not good, because a woman like me needs to stock up on calcium!!! So, I've found the solution.  Mix a cocktail.

This is a pretty sweet cocktail, if you like chocolate milk or soymilk you will like this!  The 43 has a sweet vanilla-y taste to it.  The vodka just adds a kick.

 Mix
-1 shot (40cl) vodka
-1 shot (40cl) 43
-1 cup (0.25 liters) milk
-4ish cubes of ice

This cocktail looks just like a glass or milk.  So if you need to encourage your kids to drink a glass of milk by drinking a glass along with them, wink wink, they wouldn't be the wiser.

P.S Dominik really likes it too, see.

DIY Cocktail Time: Die Zitrone

Today I am going to share my new cocktail called "Die Zitrone."  I got a christmas bonus this year from my day job, and what did I do with it? First thing I did was stock up on booze for my home bar.  Since, I have been on a cocktail recipe kick.

"Die Zitrone" is a wonderful refreshing drink that I have invented.  It is not sweet, I'll warn you.  But you can be sure to add sugar syrup if you like things sweeter.

Needed: 1oz whiskey (2tbsp), 2oz Dry Vermouth (4tbsp), 1 juice of a lemon, splash of sparkling water, twist of lemon to garnish

First, chill a tall glass in the freezer for 10 minutes. Add whiskey, vermouth, lemon juice, 3 cubes of ice into a cocktail shaker (mason jar) and shake well.  Then, pour over ice in glass, and top off with sparkling water. If you are feeling fancy twist the peel of a lemon for a garnish.

Again, feel free to sweeten this up with powdered sugar or some sugar syrup.  I like it sour you, you might like it sweet.

liebe Grüße, (with loving greetings)

Anna

P.S As you can tell I am a big whiskey fan!  If you are interested in more of a wintery whiskey cocktail you can try out my Hot-Tottie recipe

If you have hobby bar-tending friends or loved ones who may enjoy this post, I would be more than pleased if you shared this recipe with them.
